What to expect

No forms to guess your way through, no discovery call to schedule three weeks out. You start when you are ready and stop whenever you like.

    A short guided conversation

    Ten to fifteen minutes of focused questions about what you are trying to achieve. You answer in your own words — there is no form to fill in and no vocabulary you are expected to already know.

    Bring mockups or screenshots, if you have them

    Sketches, a screenshot of the system you are replacing, a spec someone wrote last year. Attaching files is entirely optional — the conversation works perfectly well without a single one.

    A written proposal follows

    I read the conversation myself and send back a written proposal covering the scope as I understand it, the approach I would take, and the next step. Written down, so you can share it and think about it.

    No obligation either way

    You end up with a clear picture of the work whether or not we build it together. Nobody chases you afterwards.

The kind of thing it will ask

Real questions from the interview, so you know what you are walking into before you start typing.

  • What brings you here — are you building something new, improving a system you already have, or replacing software that is not working?
  • In a perfect world, what would this system do for you?
  • What does your team do by hand today that it should not have to?
  • Are there existing systems this has to integrate with?
  • When do you need this, and what is driving that date?

03 Confidentiality

What happens to what you tell me

  • Your conversation is used to prepare your proposal. That is the only thing it is for.
  • Nothing you say is sold, shared or traded. There is no advertising network and no data broker anywhere in this loop.
  • Files you attach are stored privately, read only to understand your project, and never published.
  • You can ask for a copy of what was collected, or ask for it to be deleted.
